Steps/ Process to Reset Password for Subscribers
A) Reset Password using Secret Question
1. The Subscriber is required to click on 'Reset Password' link on the home page ( www.cra-nsdl.com ) and select 'Reset Password Using Secret Question'. On selection, the User is required to provide PRAN along with Captcha code.
2. On the next screen, the Subscribers may set/reset the Password by using the secret Question and Answer (set at the time of initial login).
B) Instant Set/ Reset Password
i) Reset IPIN via Nodal Office
1. The Subscriber is required to click on 'Reset Password' link on the home page ( www.cra-nsdl.com ) and select 'Instant Set/Reset Password'. On selection, the User is required to select 'Reset IPIN via Nodal Office'
2. The Subscriber is required to provide mandatory details (*marked fields) like his/her PRAN, Date of Birth along with the new password (IPIN) as per own choice, enter the Captcha and click on Submit. The User must ensure that the details are entered properly in the respective fields.
3. Once the details are submitted, a confirmation screen displays the entered details which is required to be confirmed by the User.
4. On confirmation, an Acknowledgment Number will be generated. A print option has been provided to print the Acknowledgement details as appearing in the screen. The User is required to submit this printed Acknowledgement to associated Nodal Office (PAO/ CDDO) for 'Authorization' of the request.
5. On confirmation of Acknowledgement Number by the associated Nodal Office, Subscriber can login using his new password.
ii) Reset IPIN via 'Generate OTP'
1. The Subscriber is required to click on 'Reset Password' link on the home page ( www.cra-nsdl.com ) and select 'Instant Set/Reset Password'. On selection, the User is required to select 'Reset IPIN via Generate OTP'
2. The Subscriber is required to provide mandatory details (*marked fields) like his/ her PRAN, Date of Birth along with the new password (IPIN) as per own choice, enter the Captcha and click on Submit. The User must ensure that the details are entered properly in the respective fields.
3. The Subscriber is required to select the mode of receiving the OTP that is either through 'SMS' or 'Email'.
4. Once the details are entered, Subscriber needs to click on 'Generate OTP'.
5. On the next screen, the Subscriber needs to enter the OTP received on his/ her registered Mobile No. or Email ID and click on the 'Submit' button.
6. Upon successful submission, an Acknowledgement number indicating Subscriber's IPIN Reset request through OTP has been successfully processed and the Subscriber may now login to his/ her NPS account online.
